The Happiest Place on Earth
May 22nd, 2006
Heidi inadvertently set her alarm clock using Mountain Standard time..it’s one of those Oregon Scientific thingys with a little “zone” button on the back. So, it wasn’t really 7:00 am
. It rained all through the night, and a day a Disneyland was looking bleak, even at 10:00am. But Tricia, Becca, Heidi and I decided to make the hour plus drive south because the weather was suppose to break in the afternoon. We had a backup plan, but didn’t need it. We couldn’t have had a nicer day… The sky broke, the temperature rose, and the wind calmed. Can you imagine waiting in lines less than 15 minutes at Disneyland?? We had that all afternoon. It was a whirlwind day, but we got all the good rides in. The “new” Space Mountain is a blast..has always been my favorite! I did lose my phone on Indiana Jones (the first ride of the day!), but the cast members were on top of it, and I had it back within 10 minutes…that could have been a major headache. Got back to Tricia and Mark’s about 10:30pm and had just enough energy left to pour yet another glass of wine and soak in that hot tub again. We move just a few hours south tomorrow…just northeast of San Diego is our destination. Malcolm and Paula, I wish we could get even further south to see you, but we’ve got to start heading east. We’ve heard people have done this entire trip in four days..we’ve yet to leave the state! Until next time…
